Daylight Savings Time
I forgot about the time changing last night. It's not like we have to actually change a clock nowadays. We all look at our devices to see what the time is. So, this morning, I saw that it was 8:02 I told Eddie that we had slept later than usual. Mr. BoJangles was having none of the morning chat and barked to show his frustration that Eddie and I had stopped on the way to the door to talk.
Toni Louise was walking in circles at the door and I loosed the canines to the great outdoors. I noticed that it was already 42 degrees and then went to the kitchen to make the coffee. I saw the clock on the stove was an hour behind my phone. This is when realization hit me. The time had changed. Oh well. It has little impact when you have nowhere to go. Like a job.
Unfortunately, the dogs are confused. It will take some time to acclimate. I took advantage of the warmer temps this afternoon and bravely made my way into my make-shift green house to see that only 3 plants survived. Always the optimist, I used the soil to half fill the 5-gallon pots for the raised beds. I will top them off with fresh soil before I plant anything.
I planted some onions and garlic, and a ginger root I had waiting in the windowsill. I put all of that in the teeny tiny green house and hooked up my grow light. I looked at my blueberry plants today and they are showing signs of budding. The daylilies are shooting up and will need to be dug up and thinned this year. My hollyhocks are already coming back up.
Now that I have mastered the art of finding my blog after it disappeared, I will work on downloading pictures.
Spring is springing! I tried onions one year with poor results. I should try again.
ReplyDeleteI am finally getting over my twice-yearly time change confusion.
