I Had A Dream
My husband, Drew ...... HeWho never dreams (or so he claims) had a dream! I was sleeping quite peacefully, Eddie tucked next to me, between us humans, while Bo was at the foot of the bed under the covers by my feet. You will note that both dogs stay close to me. Drew tosses and turns and literally unmakes the bed, every single night he manages to pull the fitted sheet loose at the top of the bed. That could be why nobody wants to share his space.
Back to the dream event. I was dreaming, as well and thought I heard voices in my dream. But it was him. I realized that after he slapped me and Eddie! Poor Eddie crawled up on my pillow and was atop my head when I smacked Drew back and asked why he hit me. No response. He went back to sleep. I was mad! Eddie refused to get down from my pillow and go back to usual sleeping position. Instead, he went to the other side of me. He doesn't like to be close to the edge of the bed, but he also does not like to be slapped in the night!
I asked the next day what had prompted him to slap us in the night. Then he told me he was dreaming that someone was after him in his dream and he turned around and punched them. No wonder my hand was still hurting! Eddie got most of the punch and has steered clear of Drew since.
The order for the C-Pap machine went in today. The sleep study showed that he stopped breathing 40 times an hour in his sleep. I wonder how the dogs will like the noise of the machine, not to mention the mask. His lung CT showed no cancer, and we are both grateful for that. We weren't really worried, since he has displayed no symptoms, but it was good to know that his habit of smoking that started when he was in his teens didn't kill his lungs .... just his heart!
Now it seems we have another doctor to add to list of those who take care of him. A general surgeon, a vascular surgeon, a cardiologist, a primary care doctor and now a pulmonologist. Aging sucks!
Hubby used a CPAP machine for a while. We both hated it!
ReplyDeleteEventually he changed his eating habits, lost weight, and was able to ditch the machine.
Drew used one in the 90's and has lost a significant amount of weight, but he still has sleep apnea. The newer machines are supposed to be quieter, we shall see about that.
