There's Good News, and Bad News .....
Only one o'clock and the already a long day. The good news is that I have an oven that works! After all the aggravation and sending the model number to GE numerous times, finally we find the problem. I must apologize to GE. It was the gas line after all.
How did we finally find this out? Well, after disputing the service charge and refusing to pay it, gas company refused to even come out and fill the tank. No worries, we had plenty, but this angered the man who was calling them and trying to communicate with them, so he contracted with a different gas company.
They came out this morning and moved the old tank out of the way and installed their tank. Nice man went through all the stuff about how to check for a leak, blah, blah. Then he came inside to address our stove problem. I was sequestered in the bedroom with my boy dogs. Toni Louise was outside laying in the sun. I doubt she was even aware that a stranger entered our house.
They turned the oven on, and the flame burned low, just as before. Then suddenly (according to Drew, HeWho was there) something made a poof noise, and the flame came on as it should! The gas man checked our small gas heater that we only use in emergencies. He made sure all the gas appliances were in good working order before he left. You know, like he worked for a gas company and knew what he was doing and was not in a hurry to get out of here. He took safety very seriously. I am impressed.
I wish safety was uppermost in my husband's mind as he goes about his aimless days. "If you need help, all you have to do is ask!" I know better, I feel so stupid! I was about to fill our pill boxes. I had all the pill bottles out and on the table, along with the pill containers for three weeks of pills. It is a tedious process that requires concentration on my part. I suppose that is why I am the one doing this chore. I can concentrate.
I noticed that it was time for Bravecto for the dogs, so I took the 3 doses out of the box. Eddie was the only dog with me, so I gave him his dose. I planned to dose the other two when they came back inside. Drew and the other two dogs came in and I said, "Could you give these two doses to BO and TONI."
Sure, he said. Then he said, "Which two dogs?" I spoke slowly and enunciated clearly, " BOJANGLES and TONI LOUISE!" I went on about my business. I was eating a bowl of cereal to make the nausea that accompanies my pill taking go away. Then he asks again, "Who was I supposed to give this to?"
I didn't ask "What did you do?" but I wanted to. He gave Eddie Toni's dose. He is at the vet with Eddie as I write this. Of course, I checked online first and they determined that even though the doses are not supposed to be toxic even if you administer 5 times the dosage. Ever wonder why all children's over the counter remedies are in 4-ounce bottles? Ever wondered why they don't make bigger bottles? Because even if my granddaughter decided to medicate herself with children's Motrin when she was 4 and drank the entire contents of the bottle, it was not toxic to her system.
I still sent the man along with my baby to the vet. He needs to assuage his guilt. When they return, I will be having a long talk with my canines. I will be telling them NOT to accept any meds from Daddy, only from Mommy, as Daddy doesn't pay attention to what he is doing.
I hope they don't have to make Eddie vomit! Eddie hates to vomit as much as I do. He will walk in circles gagging and whining until the job is done. Now I must go and fill pill containers while it is quiet here.
Glad to hear about the oven but bummer on the medicine.
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled that your oven is working! Poor Eddie. I'm sure he's fine, but too bad he had to go through the stress of a vet visit and possibly vomiting.
