Sitting In One Place

We arrived at our destination and haven't moved the RV since we got here. Scheduling outings with different family members is hectic. We had lunch with daughter, Jill and grandson Gage on Saturday in Wisconsin. About 20 minutes away from where we are staying at our step-granddaughter's house. Her driveway is flat, so she won guests for a week.

Saturday afternoon, my stomach began to object about all the food I put in it. I was careful not to eat much at supper Saturday night and thought I was okay. I wasn't. I was up all night sitting on the throne with a trashcan in front of me. I was so sick. The man with me slept through it all. Eddie was very concerned and would lay on the floor by the bathroom door with his snout sticking under it.

I know who loves me the most! Poor Dora's sleep was disturbed in her habitat inside the shower. She stood on the platform she suns on and watched me. It was a bit weird, having an audience. I like to think she was concerned, but I am certain she was just wondering why I was interrupting her sleep.

I crawled into bed at 7 am and stayed there until about 3 pm before I wobbled in to be with people. I can imagine how rough I looked. My daughter-in-law made chicken soup just for me. It was just what I needed. I was better, but not 100% until this afternoon.

I had nagged Drew to put the tow dolly on Facebook here to sell it and not have to take it home. We no longer need it. It is easier to travel without towing and we are only 25 feet long. I figure we spend more in gas to tow a car than we save by using the car while we are parked. I set out the plan before we left and he seemed dubious about it. So, when I woke Sunday afternoon, I asked if he had taken the pictures and posted the ad.

He had not and I could tell he was not going to. I play dirty. I sent my son out to urge him along. He asked Mila (granddaughter whose house we have invaded) if he could leave it here because he didn't think it would sell.

His phone went off all night long. You might recall that he can't hear it without hearing aids. I can, so in addition to being so sick I listened to the constant notification all night. I bet we had nearly 100 responses. I knew we would. A bigger audience for one thing and Minnesotans are serious about recreation come Spring. It sold Sunday morning, and we no longer have to worry about dragging home and storing it.

While I was so sick, he kept asking if I wanted to just go home. Really. I was miserable but just imagine being sick in a moving vehicle! Sometimes I wonder if he has lost the ability to think!

We will be leaving bright and early Thursday morning. We were going to leave on Wednesday, but Alondra (step-granddaughter) will be 10 and wants us at her party on Wednesday. She is such a sweet child. Very polite and loving. So, we won't be home until Saturday. It is a long trip. I will be happy to get home and see what my garden has for me. I think everyone should come see us from now on!

Kidding, it is easier for us to travel than them. They have jobs, we don't.

  1. Yikes! Food poisoning? Although sometimes Marc and I eat the same thing and one of us will be up all night on the toilet while the other is unaffected.

  2. We didn't eat the same thing. I am finally starting to feel better, but I am a little afraid to eat. I am being very cautious.

  3. Being sick is never any fun, but being sick at someone else's house is doubly worse. Glad to hear that things are improving.

    1. You are right about that. Drew kept asking if I wanted to go home. I did, but the thought of being sick while going 70 on a highway did not sound like a good idea.
