Random Thoughts

I knew when I stumbled out of bed this morning that I was not in for a good day. Rain came down in a steady stream as I looked out my window. Lord knows we don't need rain. But there is nothing to do about it but try to look on the bright side.

My dogs are no strangers to pee pads and are willing to relieve themselves on one. I bought them for trips but then bought more to handle bad weather. I like to rinse them with copious amounts of water before putting them in my washer. I add a half cup of vinegar to the wash and that keeps them smelling fresh. Yes, I have sniffed them. So, the good thing about the rain is that I currently have four of them draped over the fence and they will get an extra rinse.

Then I thought and thought and realized that was the only bright side I could come up with. I sat with my cooling coffee, staring at a wad of dog hair scuttling along like a tumbleweed on the floor. I just cleaned yesterday and even mopped. The mopping made my shoulder scream. I have been doing the exercise for my frozen shoulder, but it is locked up today. Mopping and sweeping are hard when you have a frozen shoulder. But two days ago, I could actually reach behind me and straight up in the air!

My back is still bothering me, and I can't sit for long. I went outside as soon as the rain stopped and scrounged the garden for enough green beans for dinner. The deer only ate the plants on the outside of the fence, so I am finally getting a handful every other day or so.

I walked around and spoke to all the cats following me. The fluffy gray cat is, indeed, pregnant. I am calling her Prego. Still will not allow me to touch them, they do get close to me, and I chat with them all. Mousy Tongue remains aloof, though it is clear that she prefers me over the Cat Master. Lucy is always with her. Ethyl is still a no-show at feeding time and Lucifer is allusive. He seems to want to be wild! Marble is another fan of mine. The secret is that I feed them delectable morsels of leftover meats and such. My husband just scoops out the dry stuff. Don't tell him my secret!

Already in a moderate amount of pain, it suddenly got much worse and then I saw lightning slash the sky and a big clap of thunder followed. I followed that with pain meds. I am so miserable with my back and shoulder, that I hardly noticed the pain in my foot until I showered and saw that the entire top of my foot is a big bruise. Then a lump rose on the back of my right hand.

I am done with my pity party and thankful that I have pain meds and a clean bed and food in my belly. Wishing as much for the rest of the world tonight as I lay me down to sleep.
