Feeling Better

After a whirlwind trip, we are finally here, in Florida for the week. We stopped in Perry the first night and spent some time with my husband's sister and her husband. We ate at a seafood place, and I enjoyed the best shrimp I have had in some time.

The next morning, we headed to my nephew's place in Pearson. It has been some time since I have seen the twins. I was surprised that they remembered me. Josiah was shy last time I was with them, but he came right up with a hug and a kiss. Jonah was the shy one this time. They were putting building blocks together. I asked Josiah what he was building, and he informed me that it was a tower. His brother, Jonah told me all the colors of the blocks, then pointed to each one and quizzed me about the colors. You know, like a cognitive test for senior citizens. They are so smart at not even 3 years old!

Well, I think they are amazing. Big sister Karagahn is taking college classes and is on the dean's list. Big brother, Easton made honor roll, too. Must run in the family ....... on my side, of course!! We ended up at a political rally for the candidate for mayor where my niece had a booth with cotton candy. A live band blasted country music and were pretty good. I ate cotton candy, making up for missing all the fairs while we endured all of our dental challenges this year.

We left the rally with full bellies, as all the food was free. Hoping to land somewhere before the sky turned dark. Finally got parked in the dark and spent a fitful night. I can't say which canine did it, but one of them managed to yank on the leash and pull on my bad shoulder. It throbbed all night and all day yesterday.

My daughter found an RV park a little closer to her house and a lot cheaper than the one we normally stay at. We paid $53 a night last time, but when we called to see if they might have a weekly rate, the price had gone up to $83 a night! No discounts. It wasn't a fancy place with lots of amenities, so I don't know why the increase in price was so much.

This RV park is amazing. Huge sites, all concrete pads, nice landscaping. We are backed up to a pond with a water fountain in the middle. I saw tennis courts and a big pool from my limited vantage point in the RV. Saw a lot more this morning while walking my dogs. This park is $47 a night with a weekly rate.

I have had my coffee and now I need to take the canines out one more time, then head to Adrienne's house and begin the day with her canines. We stopped there first and greeted the dogs. Her oldest dog, Max was so happy to see me! He is not high maintenance like the Frenchies. Max is old and he loves me since I am the one who rescued him from a box of puppies headed to the shelter.

So far, so good. My heart is still a little sore over the lost kitten that would have resembled my Martha, the boy cat. But seeing my grandson and the grand-dogs has made me feel better!
