Shame on ICE
My gouty toe is feeling better. Enough to walk around and get some chores done. The pain behind my knee has returned and I am being very careful with that. The hand woke me in the night with shooting pains. Time will take care of everything. I am old and with age comes maladies.
So, after I cleaned the kitchen to my satisfaction, I decide to sit down for a break. Turned on the TV and watched in absolute horror at the shooting of a woman by ICE agents in Minneapolis. I heard the testimony of the woman in charge of Homeland Security about the shooting before I saw the video. Two totally different points of view.
Why on earth would you project a story about the officer fearing for his life before you even saw the video. She wasn't there, had only been told about it and then decided to grandstand and say with authority that the woman in the car was trying to run the officer over! "No comment" would have been a better statement.
One of my grandchildren has fled this country and I wish I could, too! I feel the same way I did watching the police officers crush the chest of George Floyd. That was wrong and so is this incident. I am ashamed of my country today.
So sad. I have my news sources I follow (including the local network bedtime news and the News Hour on PBS) which I think give me a balance of both sides.
ReplyDeleteICE doesn't really care about actually removing folks who shouldn't be in the US. Just a bunch of protected murderers.
