What Size is Kevin?
I had the appointment with the surgeon yesterday. I liked the man and his nurses. The only thing I did not care for was the very lengthy paperwork! I told them I should be excused since the cyst causes pain when I use my hand.
He looked at my hand and poked around all the tendons and such. Then he sent me for an X-ray to determine whether or not he wants to remove it or send me to the hand surgeon. He was quite good at explaining the anatomy of my hand and where he thought the cyst might have its "root". The X-ray will not show the cyst but will give him a good idea of my particular hand anatomy. Well, I did know I was special.
In the meantime, arthritis is keeping me aware of each and every joint in my body. Bo has small feet but likes to stand in my lap with all his weight on one foot. It hurts! I have bruises. Eddie is much heavier than Bo, but his weight is equally distributed. Kevin is still light enough that the only thing that hurts is my chest and stomach from laughing at him.
This cat is the most laid-back cat I have ever seen He is calm, nothing riles him. Loud noises, dogs barking, he takes it all in stride. He will sit on the arm of the couch watching me while I drink coffee. He makes eye contact and then starts turning his head to one side, all the while staring into my eyes. Makes him look like a deranged owl.
He discovered a new game to play with the dogs. He learned to go to the door and wait for someone to let him out. He will then stay on the other side of the door until one of the dogs takes notice and begs to go out. Then he takes them on a chase into the yard and yesterday halfway up a 50' tree!
He tries to scale the back of the dining chair, a wooden ladder back chair and his weight on the back of the chair makes the chair flip over. The crash makes a loud noise when it hits the floor. You would think he would run the other way. Instead, he stands there looking at the chair as if insulted that it refused to hold his slight weight. I tried to put a harness on him. They all looked so big in the store, and I ended up buying an X-tra small puppy harness. I was sure I could make it small enough. I was wrong. He calmly let me put the contraption on and just as calmly wriggled out of it.
Today the cat harness arrived. It is also extra small, but still too big! Somewhere in the vast chaos of my sewing shed (Wits End) is a pattern for pet harnesses and leashes. I know it contains an XX small size. I made one for my little Emmy who weighed in at 6 lbs. I bet that would fit Kevin! If only I had 2 weeks to find it!
Cats are infinitely amusing.
ReplyDeleteCat is a big fatty. I don't know how much she weighs but she's heavy and she like to stand on me and yeah, it hurts!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cat. You think you know their size, but a lot of it is fur and attitude. When they're wet (I don't recommend making that happen), you can see their true dimensions.
