She Calle Back, As Promised!
Will wonders never cease! They did, indeed, call back from the surgeon's office. They referred me to the hand surgeon in Gainesville. "We just don't do that kind of surgery."
Well, why did they have e come in the office and order X-rays and then string me along for almost 3 weeks? No problem for them, they got paid. I just got the bill for the x-ray today. Not covered by any insurance, not even Medicare. Could be a coding issue with insurance. It was the cheapest bill I have gotten in a long time. Only $38.
During this issue I totally screwed up my appointment for the procedure involving the echo for my heart and it has been rescheduled to the 24th. I won't forget that date, as it is The Man's birthday.
In the meantime, our cousin called last night. She is the one who lost her husband last year. She lives alone but has her husband's family nearby and a lot of friends. But she is still coming to grips with living alone and handling grief. She called from the hospital in Savannah to let us know she had a stroke. She had a previous stroke several years ago and was unable to drive for a while. She was driving when it happened but recognized what was happening.
She is alone and scared, and I feel so horrible that we are not able to go see about her. I did learn that her stepdaughter and her husband are moving in with her. That makes me feel a little better. I hope they hide her car keys!
It makes your own trials and tribulations seem less of a burden when you are forced to consider those of people you love and care about. Puts things in perspective. The wind is blowing here, making the 45 degrees feel like 34. I managed to get a good bit done yesterday, but I have spent the entire day in pajamas either dozing or watching TV with either a cat or a dog in my lap. ot a bad way to spend a day.
You're right; there's always someone who has it worse than you do.
