The Man Cannot Fool Me!
A sleek black cat showed up this afternoon. I am pretty sure it is a female, having no dangling parts showing as she walked away. I have learned to look for such evidence. At first, I thought she was Mousy Tongue, mama cat of Lucy. I asked her where she had been and why she left her offspring for me to care for. No answer, so maybe not the mama cat after all.
Kevin confronted her right away. Kevin is not easily intimidated. The big white male cat from the neighbor down the way also came up today and Kevin marched right up to him. I think he told him to leave, because he did. This white cat is afraid of Garfield since Garfield chased him up a tree.
The Man had an appointment with the vascular surgeon today. Just for an ultrasound and some other tests on his legs to make sure the arterial graft is still patent and working as it should. I begged off. I wanted to move some things in my shed to make ready for the second phase of putting up insulation and wall board.
The shed looks totally different with one end complete with wall and peg board, all covered with a coat of white paint. The next section will bring us to the other end of the shed. So, while The Man went about his business, I managed to move most everything to the finished end. Well, all that I could. There is so much stuff. Both lofts are at capacity, and I thought I had cleared an 8' section. I put the insulation up and tried to staple it, but my bum hand could not get the staples in tight.
I was getting tired and thirsty, having depleted my big cup of water. This is when I realized I had blocked myself in. I was here alone and had to move all that stuff again to get out. I limped down to the house and made lunch and then collapsed for a bit. Eddie and I bonded while watching The Young and the Restless. Then I got up and got started on the laundry. I was intending to mop, but after I swept, I realized I just did not have the stamina to get it done.
I was happy to see all the strawberry blossoms on my plants when I walked past them from my shed adventures. Later after The Man returned from his adventure, I went outside and talked to the cats before I noticed that he had back over my strawberry bed.
When I called him out, he acted surprised and asked what had happened. Maybe he could have gotten away with it if he hadn't said that the bed was "like that" this morning. I had a shovel in my hand and used considerable self-control not to lunge at him.
Why does he think he can fool me? ME! I still might smack him when we go to bed.
