I Think My Laptop Has Covid!
My laptop developed a virus! Just add that to all my current mishaps!
It was 47 degrees when I woke this morning. A bit nippy. I had to locate a sweater to wear as I was hurrying to accompany The Man to his cardiologist appointment. He was rebuked by the nurse practitioner for not keeping track of his blood pressure. He didn't hear her and had that deer in the headlight look on his face. He won't just tell people that he is having trouble hearing them. I have to do it. Other than neglecting to monitor his blood pressure, he is fine for another 6 months.
While I was recovering from my ill-fated hand surgery, The Man ordered new hearing aids. He swore this was going to revolutionize his world. I was pessimistic. He needs to be evaluated by an audiologist to be properly fit with some that actually work. My prediction of doubt proved to be true. They were different, in that you didn't have to fiddle with the volume on the device itself. It came with pocket sized computer to do that.
Problem was that the right side didn't work, then the left side didn't work. I will admit that it was entertaining to listen to him explain this to a representative of the company and then not hear what was said. "Hi, my name is Kathy and I will be your interpreter for this conversation." I was on pain meds and not really lucid, but I was still called in to be the one that could hear. But here is the kicker ..... he ordered from the same company that he has ordered at least 3 other sets of hearing aids. I would think he would have chosen something entirely different. They have been returned and another set is on the way. I am still skeptical, causing The Man to tell me I am too negative. That may be, but I am also usually right about these matters.
I had my second follow-up with the hand surgeon. He pulled out more fluid and mashed it flat. Came right back the next day. He did say, "You know the cyst can grow back." I replied that I realized it could and he could rest assured that I had no intention of repeating the surgery. I am supposed to go back in 3 months. I will probably cancel that appointment. I bought a compression glove, and my hand no longer hurts. The lump on the back of my hand is bigger than it was before the surgery.
The only thing that is distinctly different is the fine motor skills of my thumb and fingers. I have trouble picking up small items. I have been sorting small items in the shed and noticed it. I spent a blissful afternoon working and then while eating that evening, my crown popped off my implant again! The good thing is that I didn't swallow it this time. But I still had to go to the dentist and have it cemented back in.
Dropped a jar on the same foot I dropped the food processor on, and it hurts to wear a shoe. We have to take a trip before I fatally wound myself! The current fuel prices mean I will be cooking our food instead of eating at restaurants. I am ever thankful that we sold the big diesel motorhome!
We will park in Georgia to see our cousin, Doris and my cousin, Donna will come to us. After that stay we will go on down to Homosassa to see our daughter. She called after her birthday and said I had to come and meet Freddy Mercury. Not that one, but her new puppy. Another Frenchie, 11 weeks old. All the dogs have names of singers. Gavin's dog is Bruno (Mars) and Bowie is her other Frenchie, named for David Bowie. Bowie is aggressive and I think she just bought herself a big challenge to deal with. There I go with my negativity! But, once again, I am probably right.
Now I will be reading all your blog posts for a few days to catch up.
Happy travels. I am the same as you. I call it as I see it and I can always see the handwriting in the wall...which my family calls negativity, too.
