Happy To Be Home

Mr. BoJangles here. Another road trip and I am happy to report that I seem to have gained control over my motion sickness. My mom was very happy about that!

Us dogs are always up for a trip, so it was with great anticipation that we all marched out to the RV. It started out great. We went to places we had already been before. That was fine with us. I sat in the recliner next to Mom's with Eddie. Mom will keep one hand on us and pat our heads as we roll down the highway.

Toni Louise thinks she is special because she is allowed to ride in the front with her master. I am watching her! She keeps sliding out of the seat and into the floor. What is fun about that? I prefer my seat right next to Mom.

While we were gone, we had to stay in the RV all day while Mom took care of 3 other dogs! She calls them her grand dogs. I bet Dad didn't think they were so great when Bowie bit him! Yes, that is what I said, Bowie bit him! I would never bite Dad .... well, unless he tried to cut my toenails. I do not like anyone touching my feet! But I really would never bite Mom, she bites back and I learned that lesson when I was just a pup.

So, here's something that happened. The day before we left, Dad put a leash on me and took me out. Just me, by myself. Mom was waiting with another dog! This dog was smaller than me and I was barking at him. He just looked at me and then at Mom. At first, I was ready to fight this small white dog; then I thought he might be fun to play with. I wagged my tail as fast as it would go and I was ready to be friends with him but when I got close to his face, he growled at me! It was kind of like when Toni Louise growls at me when I want her to play with me and she is not in a mood to play. Mom told me later that Max (that is his name) is old like Toni and does not appreciate all my energy.

Toni went out to meet Max, and they just looked at each other. No barks, no growls. Maybe it has something to do with both of them being old. Toni came back in, and Dad put Eddie's leash on. I could have told you he would not like Max. Eddie is very jealous when it comes to Mom and Mom was holding Max. Eddie absolutely hated Max just because Mom was holding him.

Later we all found out that Mom was considering bring Max home with us! How crazy is that? We found out that when Bowie bit Dad it was because he was holding Max and Dad put his arm up to protect Max. Mom says that Bowie likes to be the only dog. This is unfortunate because Bruno and Max live there, too. They get along just fine, but it appears that Bowie gets along with no other pets!

Mom felt sorry for Max having to stay in a bedroom all day. She did say that the bedroom was as big as our entire house! I think Max leads a pretty good life. He is the king of that bedroom, and he gets to sleep in bed with Adrienne and Chad. They are his people, and Mom calls them her kids.

Us dogs find this very confusing. We thought WE were her kids! We are home now and I, for one am quite happy to be here. Mom has already mowed our yard, and I have already made a pile of poop for her to pick up!
